Contact and opening hours

The surgery is open from 8:00am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday. The front doors will be be open during this period of time and we will stay open at lunch time, but please be advised we may be running with limited reception staff between 12:00pm – 2:00pm, so please be patient during these times.

Please note, routine appointments can be booked from 8:30am Monday – Friday. The best way to do this is by contacting the surgery by telephone.

The emergency line also operates from 8:00am – 6:00pm, Monday – Friday. Our phone lines for appointments and general enquiries open at 8:30am and close at 6:00pm, Monday – Friday.

Staff and Doctor Training Half Days

We (along with all other practices in County Durham) take part in essential collective training sessions for one half day per month. This is normally the afternoon of every third Thursday of the month.

During these periods, the surgery will be CLOSED from 12 noon to 6pm, and urgent cases will be dealt with via 111.

Since the staff also receive training at these times, there will be no routine telephone lines open either. There will be a telephone message asking callers to dial 111 for problems which cannot wait, or to call the surgery back the following day for routine matters.

Thank you for your understanding over this educational session, we are complying with the best practice guidelines on updating GPs and Staff, and have adopted the Durham CCG standard practice.
